Traditional computer fans are designed for air removal; With air circulation having been the most important factor in achieving cooling efficiency, most fans were used to remove hot air from the inside of a computer.
But as pressure and controlled air flow becoming more and more important in computer cooling, SilverStone has designed the Air Penetrator which is specially designed for creating direct air flow. The flow rate was not the main objective with the fan, but rather a focused air vortex to allow channeling through obstacles inside of the modern computer case.
With this the goal was more efficient cooling in defined areas inside of the system. Compared to common fans, where the air is dissipated in all directions and additionally disturbed by filters or fan grills, the unique fan blade design on this fan gives the Air Penetrator sufficient pressure to move air, with minimal speed and hence noise emission, as far as one meter.
This unparalleled efficiency makes the Air Penetrator not only the ideal air supply fan, but also ideal for applications on heatsinks and coolers with a low fin density.
